Have the ability to append to an existing gift batch instead of creating a new batch everytime. It would especially helpful when you run into exceptions to be able to just fix and import the exceptions file into the same batch.

Hi everyone,
We’re happy to announce that versions 3.4.1.0 and higher of ImportOmatic will include the ability to add additional gifts to existing gift batches, as you requested in this UserVoice post!
Please review the “Gift Batch” settings in our user guide to learn more about this new feature.
Thanks!
The Omatic Team

We’ve been having some issues when a gift batch is created at the same time by 2 users. For example, one is importing and the gifts are entered to a gift batch, the batch is automatically created. Then another user is committing a batch that generates an exception batch at the same time with the first user. The outcome is one of the two batches is half committed and the rest are not. And it’s been a hassle to find those gifts that are not committed and recommit them again. Especially if it’s a big batch, ie. Regular giving transactions.
As a workaround, we’ve been notifying other users not to create a batch while processing this batch. But if it takes longer, that would mean the other users have to wait that long until that batch has finished committing and the exception batch is created.
Is there a way that we can allocate a batch number for the exception batch? Or allocating a batch number for the gift batch that we’re importing via IOM? So it won’t conflict with other users. We can do this when creating a gift batch manually but we’re doing a lot of importing gifts to a gift batch via IOM.
I can’t seem to find it in the configuration settings.
We’ve been working with this issue for so long but it’s becoming unproductive and inefficient as we have to wait for someone to commit a batch. I believe this needs to be fixed.

Our accounting system requires a single batch for each day's gifts. So, we need any exceptions to a scheduled import to add to the existing batch.
