When you have a long list of profiles, it can be time consuming to find the one you want when doing an import, because they are not in alphabetic order. You can sort them in the config window by clicking the column header, but they don't stay that way, and you cannot sort them in the dropdown menu when choosing a profile. It would be great to have those 2 areas auto-alphabetized.13 votes
In the October release of ImportOmatic 3.3, we included the ability to save the sort order of your profiles (and many other cool features for better organization)! Thank you for your feedback on this issue, and we look forward to hearing more great ideas in the future.
There should be a way to match the incoming First Name value against both First Name field and Nickname field. If the first name value matches the nickname, give us the option to not update. Also, in the Bio 1 matching pop-up, give us the option to move the incoming first name value to the constituent's nickname. For example, if the incoming value is "Mike", and the RE record has "Michael", let us click a button or mark a checkbox to move "Mike" into nickname.13 votes
IOM currently cross-compares First Name and Nickname for duplicate searching. In the Bio Comparison screen, you can double-click on the name fields to type and swap the name values.
would like ability to copy relevant profile settings between profiles but need to change base file formats13 votes
In the upcoming IOM 3.0 release we added the ability to copy a profile and load the field mapping in the new profile based on a new file while keeping all of the other screens the same as the copied profile. We also added the ability to reset the field mapping in an existing profile based on a new file without changing any other screens.
Add an event ID field and, if populated, create a participant record for that constit. Optionally, link the gift to that participant record.12 votes
This has been implemented in our 1.9 version, scheduled to be in full release in March. If you’d like to help us beta test (and you have a test environment) just let us know. See a preview of some top features from the new release here: http://is.gd/IYbDdf
When the need arises to add one record to List Management list, allow users the ability to manually add the record as non-constituent record directly in the list, instead of having to run build data file and run 1 record thru List Management profile12 votes
We’ve added the ability to add single List Management records by search or manual entry. You’ll need to update to version 184.108.40.206 or higher of ImportOmatic to take advantage of this new feature.
Thanks for the great suggestion!

It would be great to see the ability with Gift imports to include a Gift Import ID. That way RE front end import can easily be used to make further updates once the gift is in the system.11 votes
Implemented in IOM 220.127.116.11 (16AUG2011)
When adding an alias if an alias already exists with exactly the same alias type and exactly the same alias, do not create a duplicate alias record.11 votes
You can use the ‘Constituent Alias – Match or Add’ Record Type to accomplish this:
Constituent Alias – Match or Add
The Value Type drop-down is populated with all values from your RE Alias Type table. Select the desired Alias Type value for all the aliases in this field. Existing aliases will be searched for already existing values if you choose this Record Type, and a duplicate alias will not be added if one already exists.
In addition, this identifies which alias to use in conjunction with the ‘Auto-pick record from search results if a single record exactly matches First and Last or Org name, Alias’ duplicate search setting. This option is especially useful if you have an alias type corresponding to another data system record ID, as it can be used to help find duplicate records and to synchronize records in Raiser’s Edge and other systems.
Hope that helps!
IOM should allow for duplicate checking on attribute descriptions to avoid duplicate attributes within the same category.11 votes
In version 18.104.22.168, we added the ability to match non-unique (many-per-record) attributes by category + description. This should resolve the dilemma of overwriting or duplicating existing, non-unique attributes on the record.
You can read more about the new attribute matching here: http://omatic-importomatic.helpdocsonline.com/constituents$Attribute%20Updates

Will you please add the ability to import the "Do Not Contact" flag for phone number and emails to Import-O-Matic?10 votes
This was just released in Import-O-Matic version 2.0.
it would be great if i could merge two duplicate records at the same time that i am trying to import.10 votes
We added the ability to flag records as duplicates, for merging later in our Duplicate Management module of ImportOmatic. New users receive a limited, free trial, and a full subscription is available for purchase.
You can download the latest version of ImportOmatic here, which includes the ability to flag duplicates: http://www.omaticsoftware.com/Forums/tabid/108/aff/12/Default.aspx
Have an option to check the "Automatically soft credit this individual for gifts" box when promoting non-consitutent spouses
We recently started matching to non-constituent spouse records (records that show up with the pair of rings in IOM) and having these non-constituent spouse records promoted to be full constituents and soft credited for their spouse's gifts. We thought it was great that there was an option to soft credit all existing gifts automatically when the spouse record was promoted, however, we discovered that while all existing gifts are soft credited, the "Automatically soft credit this individual for gifts" checkbox is NOT checked on either of the now linked spouses' records, which means that any future gifts made by one spouse or the other won't be automatically soft credited to the other.
It would be great if IOM had an option to check the "Automatically soft credit this individual for gifts" checkbox when a non-constituent spouse record is promoted to full so that future gifts would also be credited to both spouses.

The ability to import the Spouse Constituent record with the Primary Constituent record (via Individual Relationship) and share/link the address across both records.
This performing the same function as "Copy/Share Address from Constituent" from with the Spouse record after creation.9 votes

I would like to be able to import updates to a Appeal. This Appeal is already in Raiser's Edge. But we want to update the information we have in Raiser's Edge on the Appeal. The other software we are using is called "DialVision or Moonfire". So we already have the Appeal information we want to add a response of "No" or adding the package of "Opened the email".8 votes
This has been added to the 1.9.1 release. Enjoy!
have a message/brief instructions on the Findomatic search pop-up explaining how to close the window.
As a new Findomatic user, trying things pre-training I found that I couldn't close the Findomatic window. In training, I was given the information of using the Escape button. To not discourage new users, some brief instructions or an X/Close box would be helpful.8 votes
We added this capability to FindOmatic version 1.0.20. It is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, February 2nd. Now, there is a ‘X’ in the upper-right hand corner of FindOmatic that you can use to close the window.
please alphabetize the list of available dictionaries in the drop down when applying dictionaries within a profile8 votes
We’ve alphabetized the dictionary drop-down menu, among other improvements to the field map. You’ll need to update to version 22.214.171.124 or higher of ImportOmatic to take advantage of this new feature.
Thanks for the great suggestion!

We have quite a few profiles some of which are obsolete and some we don't know when they were last used. It would be nice if IOM recorded the following about each profile; date profile added, profile added by; date profile last changed; profile last changed by; date profile was last run; profile was last run by and a counter of how many times a profile has been run. These might also be if/when you decide to implement security on profiles following the model in RE which has check boxes indicating whether others can modify a profile.8 votes
Added created date, created by, modified date, modified by, last run date, last run by columns to profile list in v2.5.0
